Idol Wrap Up April 17

It's finally time to say goodbye to Kristy Lee Cook, a decent singer who somehow managed to hang on despite being in the bottom three several times. While I can never forgive what she did to "Eight Days a Week", her spunk and comebacks to Simon ultimately won me over.  I think all the kickboxing she's done in her life has taught her to stand up for herself and face-off against a worthy adversary like Simon. There's a lesson in there for young girls everywhere (ok, I'll get off my soapbox now).

I'm no country music afficianado, but I think Kristy might be able to carve out a career similar to Faith Hill's. She's just as pretty and might even be a better singer. All she needs is a "hitmaker" team to back her up and she's on her way.

Looking to next week - I'm interested to what Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber does with the Idol contestants. It would be great if David Cook puts his rocker spin on any song from Phantom.  Poor Jason Castro just might not have the chops to pull this one off, since most of these songs are for big time belters (Carly) and larger-than-life on-stage personas (David Cook). David Archuleta will cheeze his way through a ballad. I'm so over his awe-shucks-deer-in-the-headlights routine.

Seyesha will do any song justice.  A couple of obvious song choices for her would be Memory or All I ask of You. And Brooke - well, I'm at a loss for words. The world definitely could use a present-day version of Carly Simon or Carole King, but Brooke hasn't stretched enough to still be around.

Oh yea....almost forgot. How much do you miss THIS guy????????????????????
